Bev Thompson
Origami artist Bev Thompson is a native of SW Ohio who moved to Oxford, Ohio in 1979. Specialized training includes; Tai Chi Woo Style, Chi Kung, and Tai Chi Sword, student of Mok Lau.
“I enjoy live music, art exhibitions & museums, swimming and the great outdoors. Being drawn to arts & crafts since childhood, have previously participated in several arts & craft festivals at Hueston Woods, Barker's & Miami University with floral arrangements & design.
Although relatively new to origami, I find it to be a fascinating art. It's calming, rewarding, brings focus and instills patience. My zen.”
Leslye Simak
Leslye, hailing from Northern Indiana, developed a love for art from childhood, particularly enjoying projects like Paper Mache.
Inspired by her 5th grade teacher's praise, she honed her drawing skills, later expanding her repertoire during her teens by replicating images from newspapers. She pursued art education at Clark College, receiving accolades for her work, and is self-taught in painting.
Additionally, she completed culinary training and was featured in The Oxford Press for her culinary achievements. Leslye has also taught art to young students and contributed to the Oxford Community Arts Center Calendar in 2018.


Jean Vance
Jean Earned a Bachelor of Science from Miami University, a MA, and MFA from Bowling Green State University. She teaches at Miami University and Middletown Arts Center. Jean Also conducts private classes and workshops, including for the University of Cincinnati and Miami's CraftSummer.
Jean's work is represented in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Europe, China, Japan, and thee Caribbean. Her bio includes numerous one-woman shows, juried exhibitions, and awards. Watercolor, Oil Paintings, prints, and cards are shown in her studio.
In Memoriam, we are so sad to lose our be-lobed water colorist and friend. Thankfully, you may see and purchase many of her astounding pieces at our gallery.

Marcia Waller
"I started painting in my late 40's and haven't looked back. I like to paint lots of different things - flowers, animals, interesting structures - whatever has color, contrast, or some other aspect that strikes me.
The cars that I have at Snazzy are images from my large paintings. I have a third floor studio (314) at the Oxford Community Arts Center, right down the street from Snazzy."

Elizabeth Brice
Elizabeth is a retired academic librarian who has been studying watercolor for over 25 years. She loves to explore color with watercolor, especially in landscapes. She recently taught an introductory class in watercolor for The Institute for Learning in Retirement and hopes to repeat it.
Elizabeth's work may also be seen in her studio (319) at the Oxford Community Art Center during the monthly 2nd Friday Open House and by request.
Stella's Yen
Stella's Yen is an artisan dui, Joe Prescher and Masha Stepanova. They make a variety of paper and fiber art objects, often from recycled materials: hand bound books, boxes, seen items, hand spun yarn, and drawings.
